3 Ton Jesus Ministry Statues in Yucca Valley

The Desert Christ Park was dedicated on Easter Sunday of 1951. These statues were created by a sculptor artist, Frank Antone Martin. 40 steel concrete enforced statues were placed in the middle of the Southern California desert in the town of Yucca Valley, a short drive from Joshua Tree National Park. These statues are in honor of the teachings of Christianity and each piece reenact a section or a story from the Bible.

overview

Location: Yucca Valley, CA near Joshua Tree National Park in Southern California

Address: 56200 Sunnyslope Drive, Yucca Valley, CA 92284

Hours: From sun up to sun down

Fee: Free of charge

The place is open for you to visit and just walk around. I stopped here with my friend on our way to the Noah Purifoy’s Outdoor Desert Art. We spent a good hour exploring the place, taking pictures, and all that fun stuff.

It’s a great road side stop place that isn’t too out of the main road. You can pay this place a visit on your way to Joshua Tree or Palm Spring.

The statue is pretty big
