Get Yourself On The Rock. Learn To Rock Climb Everyday!

If you’re looking for ways to get more personal with nature and expand your outdoor adventure beyond walking on trails, rock climbing is the way to go. Don’t get me wrong, backpacking will always be my first love, but there’s nothing quite like trying make your way up a rock wall –  the adrenaline, the excitement, and the risk truly make this sport an adventure. If I could, I would do everyday!

I started indoor climbing a few months ago but my ultimate goal is to be outside! I was lucky enough to meet a couple, Olga and Carlos, who took me out climbing in Joshua Tree a couple of months ago.

I couldn’t have asked for a better first time outdoor climbing. Seriously, it was in Joshua Tree, probably one of the most iconic rock climbing places on earth. Olga and Carlos  showed me what it takes to be an outdoor climber. From the process that goes into setting up gears to the technique that one must have to have fun and climbing outdoor.

They just successfully launched a Rock Climbing school business, called Rock Climb Every Day, and I just want to share that all of you and encourage everyone who’s interested in climbing to join their courses. They have been climbing for a long time and have always been eager to share their knowledge and skills through other people on meetup. But now they’re looking to take it one step further and offer actual outdoor climbing courses for those who are interested in not just climbing outside but also learning the overall scope of outdoor climbing and improve their skills.

5 reasons why you should go outdoor with Rock Climb Everyday

1. They emphasize on safety. Climbing is a risky sport and without property knowledge of building anchors and technique in climbing outdoor, it can be fatal. And that’s the number one reason why everyone should take a course or go with someone who’s really experienced – it’s for your own safety.

2. They are the least intimidating and most welcoming people. There’s nothing to be ashamed of if you’re inexperienced. Olga and Carlos were so understanding of my lack of skills and were so encourage throughout my day with them.

3. They know the area really well. They have ascent countless of routes in Joshua Tree and other local crags around southern california. Their classes are hosted in different locations.

4. Meet other new climbers. Taking a course is a great way to meet new people who you can potentially continue climbing with after the course. Having a community is the biggest asset in any sport. The class size is small and limited to around 6 students. That’s 1 structor per 3 students. You will get the attention you need to learn and also get to know each other climbers faster.

5. Lastly, after you take a class with them, you will be invited to join numerous outings organized by their meetup group! This is definitely something that other schools don’t offer. It’s one thing to take a course but if you never get an opportunity to go outdoor again, then that class would be a waste. But Carlos and Olga will make sure that you get plenty of other opportunities to go climb. Climbing outside is much more fun than indoor!

Seriously, this post may sound like a sell pitch. Neither Olga or Carlos paid me to write this but I seriously do believe that they are some of the best instructors around. I will never recommend Olga and Carlos to the readers on this blog if I don’t truly think that they are one of the best, safest and most friendly instructors you can find in Southern California.
