If you like airplanes and want to do something awesome this weekend, you must visit San Diego’s USS Midway Aircraft Carrier. This museum has a range of combat airplanes for you to observe and explore. Not only will you get to observe these amazing planes from a distant, you can also jump into a few of them and play around in a real combat aircrafts.
Along with Balboa Park, this is one of San Diego‘s prime tourist attractions; there are plenty of information on this museum. Check out the official website to plan your visit.
I had a ton of fun here, and it’s definitely a must visit when in San Diego. The place is crowded on weekends, so avoid the masses by going on weekdays. If you like airplanes and love history, this place is for you. This is also a great place for families to explore together. You can enjoy the history side of the place while your kids can go crazy playing with the planes.
Enjoy the picture tour below. Let me know what you think about this place!

overview
The museum converts an old combat aircraft carrier into a museum. San Diego is one of the largest port cities in the U.S. The carrier is open for the public to visit everyday of the week from 10am to 5pm with last admission at 4pm. It only closes on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
General admission is $18 but it’s well worth it! You can do a tour with a docent, or you can just take the popular self guided tour.

The cafe was decent. It was a bit expensive for the kind of food they serve. Obviously you don’t have any other choices.

Some of the aircrafts are open for you to go sit in and play with. This museum is great for kids and airplane enthusiasts. I had a blast just playing around with the airplane. There are usually long lines though on weekends, so if you can, visiting on weekday may be better.
