I’m pretty sure the world isn’t ending this Friday (Dec. 21, 2012) but that shouldn’t stop you from taking advantage of the remaining weekends and end the year with a bang! Before we all go crazy this holiday, let’s look back and reflect on our life this year.
This past year I went camping for the first time, drove almost 20,000 miles, ate a crocodile sausage, hugged a giant sequoia and attempted to climb the tall redwood, hiked a sand dune, and explored so many abandoned ruins. 2012 certainly has a been the best year of my life so far, and I look forward to 2013.
Another big hobby of mind is actually watching tons of YouTube videos, and I’ve stumbled across so many amazing videos this past year. It’s sad to admit that I’ve probably learned more from browsing Reddit and watching YouTube than going to classes.
Now, I want to share with you a few truly inspiring videos. These people filmed a second of their lives per day and here are their final products after a year. Their life in 365 seconds. Check them out because I think they are truly inspring and really express what life mean. It’s not always about doing the most exciting things or eating the best food, but it’s about trying to enjoy every moment.
1 second everyday – age 30
This guy films himself one second a day this past year. I think that it’s such a great idea to capture someone’s life. I may do this for 2013.
One minute vacation
This man travelled through different parts of Asia for two months and recorded a second every day to make this wonderful travel video. I think it does a better job at capturing the sense of the countries than a long footage.
girl from LA made her 2011 video – 365 days online
What do you do in a year? Here’s Medeline and her life one second a day in LA.
EXTRA
Life In A Day
This is probably one of the most popular crowdsourced documentary out there. In 2010, YouTube and Ridley Scott asked people from around the world to share a video that capture their lives on July 24. Over 80,000 videos were submitted to create this fascinating documentary about a single day on earth. It’s really interesting because all the footages were shared by regular people. It’s a feature documentary and is free to watch on YouTube!
Google Zeitgeist 2012
This year’s Google Zeitgeist is more emotional than the previous years. Humanity has seen many tragedy this past year, but we must also celebrate all the wonderful accomplishments. This video will lift your spirit and bring tears to your eyes at the same time.
There you go. 2012 is ending. A year just passed by like it didn’t happen. What will you do to make 2013 an even better year?
hahah! i dunno if it’s gonna be the end of the world I would just want it to be the whole world and rather not suffer, I’d rather just be in the moment.
